  1. That's my sister in the picture! taken two years ago. Hello and welcome to our blog! This is the first post of what we hope will be many! Got any thoughts or ideas about our little community! Theres dolphins, rock climbing and much more here to do! We actually have some pictures of dolphins that some previous cottage-dwellers took and i think they are pretty cool. anyone fancy seeing them? Anyway, if you see this blog and fancy contributing just holler out a comment and start a lil' conversation :) !

  3. This week one of howard and Ruths Friend, Hanna Visited us at the hostel after 21 years of being out of touch! She liked the hostel was the beds which WEREN'T creaky but very comfotable after a bad experience in many hostels. She doesn't like the creaky noise they make! She also enjoyed the fact that there weren't any bunks which are aqkward to navigate, late at night!

  4. My name's Julia and I spent 2 weeks at Cullen Harbour Holidays working as a helpXer which basically means I work around the place in exchange for food and accommodation.

I was there for the first 2 weeks of April and had a great time! It's a beautiful hostel - everything's all wooden and cosy and old-school style... from a woodburning stove to a functioning record player! And the area is amazing as well, the hostel and cottage are right on the beach and there are walks along the coast in both directions. About an hour away is the cliff-side ruins of Findlater Castle, an incredible place to wander around if you're careful not to fall down the vertical drop into the sea!

It's also lovely staying somewhere run by a family! If you're lucky you might get to try some of Ruth's delicious baking or listen to some Beatles records with Ollie.

If you've stayed in hostels before you'll be pleasantly surprised by the spacious rooms, lack of bunk beds, privacy, exceptionally good shower, clean and well equipped kitchen.... etc! The living room is also a great place to hang out after a windswept walk.

Yeah basically if you feel like a relaxing break this is a place that'll definitely do it for you. Very calm. I hear there's dolphins as well though I never saw them!
